Apparently they changed gears while I was out of the country, this seems like a pretty good description of what the difference is between the two.  Plus it's the first time I get to reference the Christian Science website! Ha!

Getting ready to get on the damn ship...

These were obviously taken a few days ago as I'm now in Puerto Rico, but the internet is not so bueno in the West Indies!

And of course I had to take a horrible photo of the Statue of Liberty.  But you know, it was actually my first time at seeing it in person, even if it was really far off.  Still pretty exciting to be honest.

To ensure a successful cruise, you must first identify the important areas on the cruise ship.  Area number one is the soft serve ice cream lady!  She rocks!  Sprinkles even...but she left her post at 6p.

After a summer of 100+ degree heat in Tucson I was really looking forward to some cooler temps.  Fortunately NY did not let me down!  Raining and 55f or so.  I loved it!  But apparently I was the only one.

My mother and grandmother.  They are the main reason I went on this cruise.  Unfortunately as we get older we realize that our relatives are also getting older and my not always be as active as we remember.  While they are both doing relatively well right now, it may not be that way forever.

Must be Diet Coke in PR not like MX :)

Mmmm....found a steak joint on Ponce de Leon ave. Mom ordered "Coke Light" like she does in MX. They brought three "Coors Lights!". Hah!

Getting ready for the cruise in NY.

Just the first of the cheezy videos I took of my trip. This one is with my grandmother travelling from Tucson to NY.  Even though the video lists Seattle as the origin.  It was 6am in the morning.  I wasn't clearly thinking!

I'm sure this is costing me a fortune in data connection time. My only advice is to get a hotel in Jersey City. It would have been much closer to the Cruise Terminal.  Of course, it really wasn't that bad of a taxi ride from JFK to Brooklyn.  If you're expecting to actually see the city though give yourself a couple extra days in NY.  Unfortunately the cost of lodging and food make a couple days in NY almost as expensive as the entire cruise.

Little on the rainy side when we left town.
Last time I put that sweatshirt on for the whole trip.

The View from ship...
I had the camera set on the wrong white balance setting for the first few shots.  I can't remember why I had it on Tungsten, but what the hell.

Made from the best stuff on earth?

Finally got back into the land of Internet (Puerto Rico)

Well it has been an interesting few days. We stopped in St. Kitts, Antigua, and St. Thomas. I'll write a bit more on those ports when I get back to the house. In the meantime I had a chance to check my emails. Always interesting to get a lump of 500 emails at once. The fire alarm in my house evidently started going off and the house sitter noticed it when she came to feed the cats. My cats are probably deaf by now. I wonder if I can apply for government assistance for having disabled pets? Of course there is always the unlikely chance that my house actually burned down. Then I read that my new boss gave notice to leave the company. Two more days until I get back to the homebase. Wonder if I can just stay in Puerto Rico? Chupacabra wrangler has a nice ring to it.
